Factories can be unlocked in the second part of the game. Factories turn ore into energy, represented by ‘gems’. You can also unlock an upgraded Factory structure, which will improve gem production rates. Factories are unlocked at 300 gems and Factories Mark II at 5000 gems. Both buildings are unlocked via the Market.
